Halal Food and Alcohol: the Honest Picture

Hoang Ngoc Beach Resort does not hold a halal certificate, and its kitchen and breakfast are not halal-certified. Like almost every hotel in Mui Ne, it serves alcohol in its restaurant, bar or minibar. What it offers is a location within reach of halal restaurants:

• Wrap & Roll and Namaste Indian Food, Big Chill Food Court, 24 Huynh Thuc Khang Street – two counters that state their meat is halal (no certificate): Middle Eastern wraps and kebab plates, and Indian curries with many vegetarian dishes, 07:00–22:00; the food court is a mixed venue with a bar. About 1.6 km from the hotel (4 min by car).
• T'HaLal Restaurant, 189 Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street (halal-only kitchen) – the only halal-only kitchen we found in Mui Ne (self-declared, no certificate), cooking Vietnamese and Malay-style set meals from 08:00 to 21:00; it mainly cooks for pre-booked Muslim groups, so phone ahead and order before you arrive. About 1.6 km from the hotel (4 min by car).

There is no mosque in Mui Ne or Phan Thiet: the nearest is Islam Mubarak Mosque of the Cham Muslim community at Binh Minh in the Bac Binh area, about 45 km away in a straight line.
