Ho Chi Minh – Mekong – Mui Ne – Dalat Muslim Tour 6 Days Itinerary in Brief
- Day 1 – Saigon arrival and city tour: airport pick-up, halal lunch, Saigon Central Mosque, Notre-Dame Cathedral (exterior), the Central Post Office and Ben Thanh Market, then a halal dinner.
- Day 2 – Mekong Delta: about two hours to My Tho, Vinh Trang Pagoda, a private boat on the Tien River, coconut candy and honey tea on an island, a sampan ride and a fruit orchard, with a halal lunch.
- Day 3 – Saigon to Mui Ne: about 3–3.5 hours to the coast, a rest in the midday heat, then the Fairy Stream and sunset on the Red Sand Dunes.
- Day 4 – Mui Ne to Da Lat: sunrise on the White Sand Dunes, the fishing harbour, then a mountain drive of about 4–4.5 hours to Da Lat for the Valley of Love, the flower garden, Crazy House, a strawberry garden and Datanla Waterfall.
- Day 5 – Da Lat at a slower pace: the 1938 railway station, Xuan Huong Lake, a halal lunch and a free evening at the night market.
- Day 6 – Departure: free morning and a private transfer to Lien Khuong Airport.
Highlights
- Saigon Central Mosque: built in 1935 at 66 Dong Du Street, the best-known mosque in central Ho Chi Minh City.
- Mekong Delta: a private boat past the Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix and Tortoise islets, then a hand-rowed sampan along a canal shaded by water-coconut palms, with honey tea at a bee farm and seasonal fruit in an orchard along the way.
- Vinh Trang Pagoda: a large, ornate pagoda in My Tho that blends Asian and European architectural styles.
- Mui Ne dunes and Fairy Stream: sunset on the Red Sand Dunes, sunrise on the White Sand Dunes – the largest in the area – and a barefoot walk along an ankle-deep stream.
- Da Lat: a former French hill station about 1,500 m above sea level, with Crazy House, designed by architect Dang Viet Nga, and Datanla Waterfall in the pine forest.
- Da Lat Railway Station: opened in 1938, with a triple-gabled roof and old carriages on display.
Halal Food and Muslim Travel Notes
- Halal meals: the 5 lunches and 3 dinners in the programme are certified halal and served at halal restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong Delta, Mui Ne and Da Lat. Dinners on days 2 and 5 are free; your guide can suggest halal places nearby, and our guide to halal restaurants in Saigon helps in the city.
- Outside the city: halal restaurants are fewer in My Tho, Mui Ne and Da Lat than in Ho Chi Minh City; every included lunch and dinner on the route is served at a halal restaurant.
- Mosque: the tour visits Saigon Central Mosque at 66 Dong Du Street (Sai Gon ward) on day 1; read more about mosques in Ho Chi Minh City.
- Dress code: light, modest clothing covering shoulders and knees for the mosque and the pagoda; sandals for the boats and the Fairy Stream; a warm layer for Da Lat evenings.
Who This Tour Suits – and Who Should Choose Another
- Good for: first-time visitors who want river life, coast and highlands in one trip, families with children, couples and older travellers – walking is light and every transfer is in a private car. Ending in Da Lat also suits travellers flying on to Hanoi.
- Choose another tour if the Cu Chi Tunnels are a must – the Saigon – Cu Chi Tunnels – Mekong – Mui Ne Muslim Tour 5 Days includes them and returns to Saigon – or if you have only five days and can skip the Mekong, in which case the Ho Chi Minh – Mui Ne – Dalat Muslim Tour 5 Days covers the same coast and highlands.
- Less suited to: travellers who dislike early starts or long drives; three of the six days include 2–4.5 hours on the road, and a slower 7- or 8-day version can be arranged.
- Not included: the Cu Chi Tunnels, the Independence Palace and the War Remnants Museum; domestic flights; quad bike, jeep and alpine coaster rides.
Is 6 Days Enough for Southern Vietnam?
For a first visit, yes. Six days give you a taste of each of the south’s main landscapes – the city, the Mekong Delta, the coast and the highlands – with a hotel change only every one or two nights. What you give up is depth: Ho Chi Minh City gets one afternoon and Mui Ne one night. With a seventh day, add the Cu Chi Tunnels at the start or a beach day in Mui Ne; with a week, Nha Trang is also within reach. The pace is planned so that the long drives are spread out: the Mekong is a return trip from your Saigon hotel, the coast is reached by expressway, and Da Lat follows the next day. Day 4 is the longest – a sunrise start, the mountain road and an afternoon of sightseeing – so if time runs short your guide moves one Da Lat visit to day 5, which is otherwise kept light. You reach the airport on day 6 rested rather than rushed.
Customize Your Ho Chi Minh – Mekong – Mui Ne – Dalat Muslim Tour 6 Days
- Add a day in Ho Chi Minh City for the Cu Chi Tunnels, the Independence Palace or the War Remnants Museum.
- Add a second night in Mui Ne for a free beach day, or choose a beachfront resort.
- Turn the Mekong day into the Mekong Delta Muslim Tour 2 Days 1 Night, with a night in Can Tho.
- Upgrade to 4-star or 5-star hotels, or replace the 05:00 sunrise visit with a later morning at the White Sand Dunes.
- Reverse the route to start in Da Lat, or finish in Ho Chi Minh City instead of Lien Khuong Airport to fit your flights.

Local Expert Notes
By Jimmy, Saigon Muslim Tours
- Day 4 starts at about 05:00 for sunrise on the White Sand Dunes; it is worth it for the soft light and cool sand, and you can rest on the drive to Da Lat.
- From November to March the north-east wind blows strongly in Mui Ne; sand can sting on the dunes, so sunglasses and a light scarf are useful.
- Da Lat nights are cool all year and can fall below 10°C in December and January – pack a fleece or light jacket.
- From May to November, short afternoon showers are common in the Mekong Delta, usually lasting 30–60 minutes; a light raincoat is handier than an umbrella on the boats.
- Notre-Dame Cathedral has been under restoration since 2017 and the work is expected to continue to 2027 or later, so we see it from outside only.

Starting in bustling Ho Chi Minh City, we explored key attractions like the War Remnants Museum and Ben Thanh Market, all while enjoying Halal meals and visits to the local mosque.
The Mekong Delta excursion was a serene break from the city’s hustle, where we enjoyed a peaceful boat ride, visited local villages, and tasted fresh tropical fruits. The Halal lunch on the riverbank was a special touch.
Mui Ne was a highlight with its stunning red and white sand dunes. We had a blast sandboarding and relaxing on the beautiful beach. The fresh Halal seafood meals were delicious, and visiting the nearby fishing villages added a unique cultural experience.
Dalat was the perfect finale to our trip. The cool highland air, beautiful flower gardens, and quirky attractions like the Crazy House made Dalat a place we’ll never forget. We appreciated the attention to our spiritual needs, with mosque visits and Halal meals arranged seamlessly.
Overall, this tour was perfect for Muslim travelers. The well-planned itinerary, friendly guides, and focus on our needs made it an experience we’d highly recommend to anyone looking to explore Southern Vietnam.

5.0Excellent Muslim Tour Services!
Our group recently joined the Ho Chi Minh – Mekong – Mui Ne – Dalat Muslim Tour: 6 Days – 5 Nights and it was an unforgettable experience! This tour is perfect for Muslim travelers wanting to explore the best of Southern Vietnam while ensuring their dietary and religious needs are met.
Our journey began in the vibrant Ho Chi Minh City, where we visited stunning attractions such as the Hundred Years Red Cathedral, the Old Post Office, and several beautiful mosques. The Mekong River Delta tour was a serene experience, showcasing the rich daily life along the river.
Mui Ne was another highlight with its breathtaking White Sand Dune, Red Sand Dunes, Fairy Stream, and picturesque Fishing Village. The beaches were pristine, and the scenery was simply stunning.
Dalat, known as the valley of love, was absolutely charming. We explored the Flower Garden, Crazy House, Strawberry Garden, and the Datanla Recreation Centre & Waterfall. The perfect weather and beautiful landscapes made it an ideal spot for relaxation. The Ho Xuan Huong Lake and Dalat Night Market were also fantastic places to visit.
Throughout the tour, we stayed in comfortable, Muslim-friendly hotels and enjoyed delicious Halal meals. In places where Halal restaurants were not available, we were provided with excellent vegetarian and seafood options, ensuring our dietary requirements were strictly followed.
Saigon Muslim Tours did an outstanding job organizing this trip. The itinerary was well-planned, and the attention to detail was exceptional.
